Dog Breeds
Each dog was built for a specific purpose, they were categorized by size,weight, age, and coat type. Currently there is 178 known dog breeds. However as time went by these dogs were no longer used as what they were bred for and the breed started to change.
Know the difference
Purebred= Registered with a family pedigree and breed meets standards.
Mixed breed= Unknown pedigree and not registered contains a mixture of at least two other breeds.
Miscellaneous group= Breeds whom are not recognized by AKC
AKC= American Kennel Club
Designer/hybrid= New breed that is not recognized by AKC Example Labradoodle and Puggle.
